Hyderabad , Feb. 6

KEEPING in mind the importance of `golden hour' in saving accident victims, Apollo Hospitals has launched `Apollo FIRSTaid' service, comprising a fleet of two-wheelers.

The two-wheelers will be manned by trained paramedics, with basic life support equipment and medicines. Ms Shobana Kamineni, Executive Director of the group, launched the service here on Saturday. It was launched simultaneously in Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

"The moment the hospital receives an emergency call, these two-wheeler will rush to the accident site," a hospital spokesman said. This was aimed at fighting traffic congestion, he said. The two-wheeler would be followed by an ambulance to shift the victims to hospital, if need be.
