Three killed in two accidents

BELLARY, FEB. 10. Three persons were killed in two separate road accidents on National Highway 13 on Thursday.

According to the police, a motorcyclist and the pillion rider died when their motorcycle collided with a lorry. The accident took place between Gollarahalli and Dananayakanakere villages.

The victims have been identified as D. Anjinappa (32) and Halappa (31). The Mariyammanhalli Police have registered a case.

In another head-on collision between a four-wheeler and a lorry near Ammanakere in Kudligi taluk, one person died on the spot and another was injured.The victim has been identified as Siddarth.

Based on a complaint by Vijayakumar, the Kudligi police have registered a case.

Apprehended

The Holalkere police apprehended two persons and recovered Rs. 2.5 lakhs worth of stolen goods including 4 motorcycles and 8 colour televisions on Wednesday.

According to an official release, the apprehended persons have been identified as Mahesh, alias Paul Edwin of Mysore, and Mallappa of Avalihatti in Holalkere taluk.

S. Rudramuni, the Circle Inspector of Police at Holalkere, was on night beat and observed the suspicious movement of two persons riding motorcycles and apprehended them.

On interrogation, it was revealed that they are part of a gang along with Keshava, Prakash and Shivu, who are the accused in several other cases.
