BELLARY, FEB. 11. The All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO), the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), the All India Mahila Samskrutika Sanghatane (AIMSS), and the D.Ed. Students Action Committee, which spearheaded the agitation against the introduction of the six-month internship for D.Ed. students, have welcomed the Government's move to withdraw the internship. In a press release, M. Basavaraj of the AIDYO, Shantakumari of AIMSS, N. Pramod of AIDSO and Tippa Nayak of the D.Ed. Students' Committee, said that the State Government has decided to form a committee of experts to formulate a new curriculum to include the internship within the two-year D.Ed. course. They urged the Government to take a decision in this regard as soon as possible to avoid any more confusion on the issue. The leaders have also appealed to D.Ed. students to continue their struggle and pressure the Government to concede their demands immediately.
