Back Traders body urges relook at FDI in retail Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 13 A SECTION of traders today opposed any move to permit foreign direct investment (FDI) in the retail sector saying that it was "detrimental to the internal trade of the country". They have urged the Government to form a joint committee of officials to discuss the issue threadbare, according to a statement by the Confederation of All-India Traders (CAIT). The confederation also said that it would organise a national-level meeting of trade, labour, small and micro-industry on February 15 to "fight against WTO principles".
