HEWLETT Packard said on Tuesday that its Indian software operations would play a key role in developing software for its Integrity server line of solutions.

The company is pumping in $3 billion in developing the Integrity server line over three years, said Mr Richard Marcello, Senior Vice-President and General Manager for business critical servers at HP.

About 30 per cent of the development efforts for the Integrity server line was carried out by the Bangalore-based team of over 600 engineers.

"We expect to grow this team in the coming years," Mr Marcello said adding that the company was looking at enhancing its alliance with Indian software vendors to develop applications for the finance and telecom domains. Infosys Technologies, i-flex solutions, Nucleus Software and First Apex, among others, are some of the ISV partners of HP in India.

Mr Marcello said the company was seeing strong momentum for its Integrity server-related solutions both globally and in India. The company has shipped over 500 units of Integrity servers in India alone, while its global sales surpassed $1 billion.
