HYDERABAD, FEB. 17. Two persons diverted the attention of one, Y.K. Babu, of Jubilee Hills and relieved him of Rs. 16 lakhs cash on Wednesday. In his complaint, Mr. Babu said he came in contact with one, Khan, who said he would sell gold biscuits at a cheaper rate. Accordingly, they planned to execute the deal on February 15. However, Khan sent two persons identified as Vicky and Mujeeb to Babu's residence. While Mujeeb waited in the vehicle outside, Vicky walked in with a briefcase. He then took out a gold biscuit and told Babu that he would soon return with the remaining gold biscuits and asked the latter to keep the cash ready. To gain Babu's confidence, Vicky even left the briefcase he had brought with him stating that it contained cash. Meanwhile, he diverted Babu's attention and walked out with Babu's briefcase containing Rs. 16 lakhs cash. When Vicky did not return, Babu opened the briefcase only to find bundles of neatly cut white papers that had Rs. 500 notes on either side. He lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police.
