Back Exempted from strike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The joint action council of service organisations in the State has exempted hospital employees on ward duty and those in charge of power and water supply from the indefinite strike slated to begin on Tuesday next.

A joint statement here on Thursday by action council leaders Mr C.H. Asokan, Mr M.N.V.G. Adiyodi and Mr P.P.M. Ashraf, said that temporary hands recruited through employment exchanges and teachers on superannuation would also be exempt from the strike.

The leaders appealed to the staff engaged in rehabilitation of tsunami victims to do so voluntarily after taking part in the strike. They also appealed to the staff and teachers to hand over keys of office under their charge to the authorities concerned.
