Girish, Sumana are fastest

NEW DELHI, FEB. 24. V. Girish of Kerala and Sumana Mandal of West Bengal won the 100m gold in the men's and women's sections respectively in the fourth all-India BSNL athletic meet at the Karnail Singh Stadium here on Thursday.

Girish clocked 10.8 seconds in beating P.J. Vinod, while Sumana was timed at 12.8s as she beat Amitha Sethi by 0.1 seconds.

P.J. Vinod won the high jump gold with a jump of 1.9m and the discus gold went to Rajiv Kumar of Delhi who threw a distance of 37.41m.

Maharandeev Yadav won the pole vault clearing 3.45m and the decathlon gold went to Tejvir Singh with 3724 points.
