Back India, Afghanistan sign MoU on aviation, media Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 25 INDIA and Afghanistan on Thursday signed two MoUs for co-operation in the fields of civil aviation and media and information. The two agreements were signed in the presence of the visiting Afghan President, Mr Hamid Karzai, and the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh. India has agreed to co-operate in providing the required experts and manpower for airport management, air traffic control, air navigational aids, pilot, cabin crew and navigational aid experts, training, development of communication systems, airport and airline safety, security oversight and maintenance of aircraft. This was agreed in an MoU signed by the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr Praful Patel, and the Afghan Minister of Transport, Mr Enayatullah Qasimi. The MoU is to remain in force for three years after which it will be extended automatically for one year unless terminated by either party by giving adequate notice.
