Cloudy sky, rain likely

NEW DELHI FEB. 28. The Capital will wake up to a partly cloudy sky on Tuesday. The weatherman has also forecast the possibility of thundery development or light rains in some areas during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius while the minimum is expected to hover around 14 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung on Monday was 28 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 12.5 degrees Celsius. At Palam, the maximum temperature was 27.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 13 degrees Celsius.

The maximum humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 83 per cent and 78 per cent, while the minimum humidity was 36 and 35 per cent respectively.

Seven `dacoits' nabbed

NEW DELHI FEB. 28. Seven people allegedly planning to commit a dacoity were arrested at Sarojini Nagar in South-West Delhi on Sunday. A country-made firearm and three mobile phones were allegedly recovered from their possession.

The accused, Jitender Gujjar, Jagdish, Rajkumar, Rajesh, Gopal, Islamuddin and Pappu, had assembled behind Safdarjung Hospital when they were arrested.

Alleged robbers arrested

NEW DELHI FEB. 28. Four alleged robbers were arrested from Yamuna Vihar in North-East Delhi on February 25. A country-made firearm and two mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

According to the police, Samir, Feroze, Gayasuddin and Mange Khan were arrested.

Held for burglaries

NEW DELHI FEB. 28 . Two women allegedly involved in burglaries have been arrested by the South Delhi police. The police have also arrested two receivers of stolen property.

The Lodhi Colony police had arrested two women, later identified as Neelam and Kamlesh on February 25 when they had broken into a house at C-Block in Lodhi Colony.

Suicide bid

NEW DELHI FEB. 28. A 20-year-old woman allegedly tried to commit suicide by setting herself afire in her grandmother's shanty at Kalyanpuri in East Delhi today.

According to the police, Arti, wife of Balkishan, allegedly poured kerosene oil in her grandmother's house at Khichripur in Kalyanpuri this evening. She has been admitted to JPN Hospital with 70 per cent burn injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Arti was married to Balkishan two months ago. He allegedly used to beat her up as a result of which she had left his house and come to stay with her grandmother.

The area sub-divisional magistrate has been informed about the incident and further investigations in the case are on.
