THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Assembly on Monday passed a resolution expressing State's gratitude to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, for his initiatives in bringing more Central investments into the State.

Moving the resolution, the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, said the international transhipment terminal at Vallarpadam and expansion of the Kayamkulam station of the National Thermal Power Corporation, work on which have been initiated, have been long-pending demands of the State.

The Prime Minister himself had travelled to Kerala during the last month to lay the stone for both projects.

According to Mr Chandy, these would immensely help in the State's industrial development. The Assembly later adopted the resolution unanimously.
