Back Award for C.N.R. Rao

NEW DELHI: Prof C.N.R. Rao, an eminent scientist, has been conferred upon the first Indian Science Award for 2004 for his contributions in solid state and material chemistry.

The award was announced by the Minister for Science and Technology, Mr Kapil Sibal, recently, informed an official release. The award was instituted by the then Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during the Indian Science Congress held in January 2003.
