Ajit Singh wins marathon

HYDERABAD, MARCH 4. Ajit Singh of MRC won the marathon event of the ATNK&K area athletics championships on the fourth day of the competitions at the Artillery Centre here on Friday.

Artillery and MEG athletes dominated the proceedings and the two units bagged two gold medals each.

The results:

Marathon: 1. Ajit Singh (MRC) 2hr 34m 02.34s; 2. Lok Raj (MRC); 3. Arun Kumar (Artillery).

Hammer throw: 1. Manoj (AOC) 48.81m; 2. Nafisuddin (Artillery); 3. John Jacob (MRC).

High jump: 1. Ashok (Artillery) 1.95m; 2. C. Vijin Raj (EME); 3. L. Ram Kumar (MRC).

400m hurdles: 1. Ajimon (Artillery) 55.02s; 2. Ashokan (AOC); 3. Gopinath (MRC).

200m: 1. Sanjo T.B. (MEG) 21.83s; 2. Bipin Bhasi (MEG); 3. Aditya Biswas (AOC).

Discus throw: 1. Sunil Kumar (MEG) 45.22m; 2. Dilbag Singh (Artillery); 3. Mahesh Singh (Artillery).
