Bangalore , March 10 SPECIALITY biscuit company UNIBIC on Thursday announced the setting up of its first manufacturing facility outside Australia. The factory set up at Bangalore will produce its brands Anzac and Bradman for distribution in the country through retail outlets, while one-third of its turnover of Rs 40 crore in the next one year would be exported. At a press conference here, Mr D.D. Saxena, Managing Director, UNIBIC India, said the company has invested Rs 15 crore in the unit and hopes to ramp up its turnover to Rs 100 crore in five years. UNIBIC India has launched its products in Bangalore before rolling it out in other parts of the country by the year-end. The company, which has a presence in Australia, New Zealand, the US, the UK and Canada, would source all raw materials, except oat, from India for its products here, said Mr Saxena. Besides retail outlets, UNIBIC also plans to tap the direct marketing route.
