Back Himalaya Drug introduces hair-loss cream

FOR those agonising over hair fall, The Himalaya Drug Co has introduced a cream for topical hair-loss. The new product joins the shampoos, conditioners and oils of its haircare range.

According to Mr Soumitro Banerjee, Business Head of the Personal Care Division, the cream is the first of its kind in the Rs 150-crore branded hair control market.A product of seven years of research, the cream has as the main ingredient the common palash or Flame of the Forest, which, however, is not commonly used in hair growth products, he told Business Line. "It is our breakthrough product. It is 100 per cent herbal but not classically ayurvedic; not with commonly-used ingredients," with a user-friendly regimen of an optional wash after application, he said.
