Back Diversification bearing fruit

Horticulture and agro-forestry has taken off significantly in Punjab in the last three years, particularly with some progressive farmers diversifying away from paddy cultivation. One such farmer is S.C.Misra of Alawalpur who has taken to growing pears, which he says consumes less water than rice and also fetches higher prices.
