Back `Management students have key role in society'

MANAGEMENT students should play a constructive role in the development of society, the Mangalore Commissioner of Customs, Mr P. Karthikeyan, has said.

At a workshop on `Emerging management issues in the service sector,' organised by the Srinivas College of Post-graduate Management Studies here on Wednesday, he said management students should not act as a tool for corporates to amass wealth.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr G. Giridhar Prabhu, Managing Director of Achal Industries, Mangalore, said communication technology has brought rapid changes in the service sector. Scope for service sector is increasing with industrialisation in the world.

The President of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mr A. Srinivasa Rao, was present on the occasion.
