Back Second day of Nabard strike Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Offices of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) across the country remained closed for the second consecutive day on Thursday following a two-day nationwide employee strike. According to Mr N. Balakrishnan, President, Nabard Officers' Association, officers and employees of the Kerala Regional Office here conducted a peaceful demonstration in front of the main gate on Thursday. They were denied entry into the premises with the gates locked from inside. A heavy cordon of police force was also thrown around the area. Among those who addressed the striking staff were Mr E. Radhakrishnan, Vice-President, Reserve Bank Employees Association; Mr G. Madhusudanan Nair, District Secretary, Confederation of Central Government Employees; Mr Jose T. Abraham, Secretary, Nabard Employees' Association; and Mr Raja Kurup, President, State Bank of India Staff Union.
