Back Restoring file
I have dual booting on my system, with Win XP Professional (on C drive) and Win 98 (on D drive). My system's other specifications are Intel P4,1.6 Ghz, 256 MB RAM and 40GB hard disk, with AVG 7.0 antivirus updated version. I usually run Win XP. Recently, a message appeared on my screen saying spyware was running on my system. So I downloaded Microsoft anti-spyware beta. On installation, it recommended that I disable `Win Messenger-NetBios over TcpIp'. I ran the scan and found three spyware on my system. I removed them all. But after this, another message appeared on the screen on `MS spyware' and said MS Shell Browser UI Library would need to be installed, with this file path:C:\windows\system32\browseui.dll This program is known to be spyware-free. So I tried to connect to the Internet but Internet Explorer would not display pages. And the task bar too does not display details, only says `Done.' But the Sancharnet status shows these details: "connected 36000bps.Details:Server type-PPP,transport-Tcp/Ip Authentication-PAP,Compression-None,PPP Multi link-Off,Server IP addres-61.1.238.5 and Client IP addres-60.1.238.48" I tried the AVG 7.0 update. It shows that an authentication event has occurred. `Incredimail' and MSN Explorer do not work. I tried uninstalling the spyware program, but the problem remains. Please suggest a solution. Sunil Browseui.dll is a System file and is part of Microsoft's Internet Explorer. You need to replace this file to c:\windows\system32\ to have your problem solved. Please follow the following procedure, step by step, till you have your file in place. First do a `find' in your system to see if you can find the file in some other location in your disk. Look for browseui.* If it is found at C:\Windows\System32\dllcache, please copy it to c:\windows\system32\ This is the first preference, as Windows keeps the latest version files in this dllcache folder. Next, if you have installed SP2, you will find the file browseui.dl_ in the i386 folder. Copy it to c:\windows\system32\ and rename it to browseui.dll. If you are not able to find this file in your system, the next step is to find it on the Web. One simple way is to apply the latest patch which will update your IE to the latest and will also replace the missing file. You will find the cumulative IE patch at http://www.microsoft.com/technet /security/bulletin/ms05-014.mspx In this page, please go to the "Affected Components" section and click the link related to your OS and Service Pack. As there are separate links for XP with SP1 and XP with SP2, please click on the correct link and download and update your system with that patch. This ought to solve your problem.
