NEW DELHI, MARCH 29. Vijay Nambiar, India's former Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has been appointed Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat, and Deputy National Security Adviser in the grade of Secretary to the Government of India. "His appointment will come into effect from the date of joining and will be effective for a period of two years," an official statement said. He replaces Satish Chandra as Deputy National Security Adviser. Talmiz Ahmed, Additional Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for a period of four years.
