Two women
relieved of gold
Two persons posing as policemen relieved two women of their jewellery by diverting their attention at Lalaguda and Panjagutta on Wednesday. P. Narsamma, 47, was walking on the road near Janapriya Apartments when the duo claiming themselves to be policemen approached her stating that a robbery had taken place in the area and that she remove her ornaments. She did so and they packed the ornaments weighing four tolas in a paper and returned it to her. On reaching home, she opened the packet and found stones inside, the Lalaguda police. Another woman, G. Laxmikanthamma, 75, was relieved of six tolas jewellery in a similar fashion at Ameerpet Colony.

against wife
A doctor, K. Prasad, approached the Abids police on Wednesday stating that his wife was refusing to maintain conjugal relations with him. According to the complainant, he got married in August 2004. But, his wife refused to have a conjugal relationship saying that she wanted to remain pious. He charged that the woman' s parents too were supporting her.
Cellphone stolen
Unidentified persons stole the mobile phone of a retired IAS officer, N. Ranga Reddy, after approaching him saying that they wanted to take on rent the vacant portion in his house at Municipal Colony in Malakpet on Wednesday. Mr. Reddy received a call on his cell saying that two persons would come to see the house. While the two went around the portion, Mr. Reddy got another call wherein the caller said he wanted to talk the duo. The duo took the mobile from Mr. Reddy and fled, the Chaderghat police said.
