Back No polio cases in one year

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh has recorded one year of zero polio cases. Asking the people to continue the performance, UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) officials said three years of zero cases would make the State polio free.

The State could achieve two `polio free' years in 2001 and 2002. But there was break in the run as some cases were reported in the State a year later. Putting that behind, the State again could achieve a polio free year. Appealing to the people to make the upcoming polio immunisation day on April 10, the officials said this would go a long way in making the State polio free, a press release said.
