On The Hindu

Sir, — As a reader of The Hindu since 1944, I felt happy on reading the news about the only ownership change in the paper in 1905 — a hundred years ago. Salutations to the memory of Kasturiranga Iyengar, who ventured to purchase, redeem and make The Hindu what it is today.

Successive generations of the family deserve our praise for holding aloft The Hindu banner — of chaste language and unfailing ethics — and for taking it to great heights of circulation.
