ATNK & K Area triumphs

HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. ATNK & K Area emerged overall champions in the Southern Command Athletics and marathon championship which concluded at Artillery Centre (Golconda) near here today.

Havaldhar Nagendra Rao of ATNK & K Area was declared `best athlete' of the meet.

Maj. Gen. S.P.S. Dhillon, General Officer Commanding, Bison Division, gave away the prizes.

The results: 100m: 1. Satish Kumar (MG & G Area) 10.96 secs; 2. Vipin Basi (ATNK & K Area), 3. Annu Thomas (ATNKK & K Area).

800m: 1. Anil Kumar (12 Rapid) 2:01.86, 2. Shinto Mathew (ATNK & K Area), 3. Ramanappa (ATNK & K Area).

3000m steeplechase: 1. Ranjan Kumar Jha (ATNK & K Area) 9:31.37, 2. Raj Kumar (ATNK & K Area), 3. P.T.Bhosle (MG & G Area).

50 km walk: 1. Harminder Singh (ATNK & K Area), 2. Ratan Singh (ATNK & K Area), 3. Satyanarayana (ATNK & K Area).
