ISO certification for Uppal police station

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, APRIL 9. Police personnel in the Cyberabad commissionerate achieved another milestone when the Uppal police station was awarded the ISO 9001 - 2000 certification on Saturday. This is the second police station in the newly-formed commissionerate to get the ISO certification.

The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, handed over the ISO certificate to the Commissioner, M. Mahendar Reddy, at a simple function at the station. Dr. Reddy went around the police station and interacted with constable officers to get a first-hand account of how the standardisation of procedure was helpful to those visiting the station.

The best compliment for the Uppal police, more than the award of the ISO certification, came when people who gathered at the station told Dr. Reddy that the personnel at the Uppal station receive them well. "We do not feel threatened on entering the station. We are received well," Dr. Reddy was told.

Earlier, the Jeedimetla station in the commissionerate was awarded the ISO 9001 -2000 certification.
