Man with fake currency held

A tailor, Bhagwan Naik, who purchased grapes by handing over a fake Rs. 100 note, was arrested by the Gopalpuram police on Friday. Fourteen fake notes of Rs. 100 denomination and one of Rs. 500 denomination were seized from him. He was arrested when the vendor, who grew suspicious, raised an alarm.

Rs.1 lakh stolen

Miscreants made away with Rs. 1 lakh from the side box of a motorcycle belonging to one Mohammed Sajid Hussain under the Chaderghat police limits on Friday. In his complaint, Hussain stated that at Wahed Nagar in Malakpet, a two-wheeler hit his motorcycle, due to which he fell. As people gathered, the cash was removed from the box in the melee.

Man ends life?

An employee in the Secunderabad MRO's office, D. Shiva Kumar (28), allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a train between Moulali and Ammuguda on Friday. His body was found on the tracks. Shiva Kumar, a resident of Bhagat Singh Nagar, reportedly had a quarrel with his mother over delay in serving food. He left home in a fit of rage and took the drastic step, it was said.

Body found

The body of an unidentified man aged around 25 was found behind Rail Nilayam under the Tukaramgate police limits on Friday. The body bore head injuries and a liquor bottle was found near the body.
