Visa problems force Cheboror to pull out

BOSTON: Kenya's Robert Cheboror, runner-up in last year's Boston Marathon, pulled out of Monday's race because of visa problems.

Cheboror finished 1:12 behind Timothy Cherigat last year. Cheboror won the Amsterdam Marathon in 2h 6m 23s — the second-fastest time in 2004.

The Boston Athletic Association said on Saturday that Cheboror withdrew because of ``difficulties obtaining official travel documents.'' — AP
