TIRUPATI: The `key' to the model EAMCET-2005 conducted on Sunday across the State by the the All India Students Federation (AISF) was released here today at a function by Chukka Ramaiah, popularly known as `IIT Ramaiah,' and founder of the Ramaiah Educational Institutions.

Addressing a meeting in this connection, the veteran educationist said that the Government by making numerous announcements, vis-a-vis EAMCET, in the run-up to the Statewide examination, was creating confusion in the minds of candidates and parents.

He said that in the context of rapid strides being made in the field of science and technology the world over, the Government must consider it as its first and foremost duty to provide the necessary educational infrastructure and inputs to help its students catch up with the global trend.

Lack of jobs

He regretted that because of the failure on the part of the Government to provide adequate and suitable job opportunities to meritorious students, many engineering, MCA and MBA students were often seen languishing in the streets for want of employment.

He was also unhappy that the advent of the corporate colleges had seen the slow decimation of the small junior colleges being run by the unemployed graduates and said that despite agitations by the students the Government was not able to rein them in any effective manner.

`Model IIT'

The State general secretary of the AISF, N. Raja Reddy, hinted at the organisation conducting even model IIT test on the lines of the model EAMCET in future. He also claimed that the model EAMCET held throughout the State today was a `great success' and pointed out that as many as 52,000 students had appeared for the model test conducted in 156 centres in the State.

He attributed the success to the close similarity to the AISF's model EAMCET question paper and to the original question paper.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the S.V.University, S. Jayarami Reddy, visited the exam centre at Tirupati, and complimented the AISF leader, Raja Reddy, for the professional manner in which the organisation was conducting the test for the benefit of the students.

He said awards to the meritorious students would be presented before April 25.
