Castrol India sales, profit up

Castrol India has reported higher turnover and profits for the three months ended March 31, 2005. Net sales have risen to Rs. 319.70 crores from Rs. 289.40 crores. The profit before tax has increased to Rs. 46.30 crores from Rs. 41.50 crores. The profit after tax is higher by 19 per cent at Rs. 32 crores against Rs. 26.80 crores.

According to a release, the performance would have been even better but for a sharp increase in the cost of inputs, says a release.
