A retail vendor arranging tomatoes at his shop in Chennai. Tomato prices have begun to rise along with the mercury. Tomatoes, which were sold at Rs 7-8 in the retail market at the beginning of the year, are currently quoted at Rs 16-18 a kg. Prices are up on drop in arrivals and end of the harvest season.
