Back Federal Bank union calls for strike

THE Federal Bank Employees Union has called for a national strike on May 2.

The union has demanded that appointments should be made to all the vacancies in the bank, that promotions be given to the various sub-staff, contracts enforced and other demands of the employees met.

The action committee of the Union, which met at Kochi, also decided to sit in dharna in front of the head office of the bank at Aluva on May 2. All the 400-odd branches of the bankwill go on strike on that day, a press release said.
