ALAPPUZHA: A five-day-long exhibition and sale of books being organised by the Alappuzha District Library Council will begin at O.V. Vijayan Nagar (Narasimhapuram Auditorium) on April 22. Poet Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan will inaugurate the exhibition at 10 a.m., said the district library council president, P. Viswambhara Panicker, at a press conference here on Thursday. Mr. Panicker will preside. The CPI(M) Alappuzha district secretary, G. Sudhakaran, will inaugurate the sale of books. K.S. Manoj, MP, will deliver the keynote address. The State library council member, Munjanattu Ramachandran, said 30 book publishers in the State would participate in the exhibition. The convener of the exhibition committee, S. Jatindran, said various programmes would be organised at the venue on all days of the exhibition. A poets' meeting would be held on the inaugural day at 5 p.m. Poet and writer Ambalappuzha Gopakumar would preside over the meeting. Akshara Sloka performance would be held at 5 p.m. on April 23. A meeting of short story writers would be held at 5 p.m. on April 24.
