Two AISF activists hurt in clash

GUNTUR: Two activists of the All India Students Federation (AISF) were injured when they tried to stop summer classes being conducted in the Vikas Junior College (women) at Vidyanagar in Guntur on Thursday. The AISF town vice-president, P. Puli Raju, received bleeding injuries on his head while another student, Mastan, received injuries on the legs when the college management allegedly drove away the activists by pelting stones at them.

A TV channel recorded the entire incident. The management contended that while the Minister for Higher Education had allowed conducting of summer classes in all the corporate colleges, the AISF had no business to interfere in their affairs.

Dharna staged

The AISF members later sat on a dharna in front of the Regional Inspecting Officer of Intermediate Board raising slogans against the college management and the RIO for not taking action against the college for conducting summer classes.
