Contractor held, detonators seized

VISAKHAPATNAM: A special party engaged in intensive combing of the agency area after the encounter at Gunukurayi in G.K. Veedhi mandal, arrested a contractor at Paderu and seized electrical detonators and gelatin sticks he was transporting in his vehicle late on Thursday night.

The police were on high alert after four activists of CPI (Maoist) were killed in Sunday's encounter which was followed by a few incidents.

The contractor, Paritala Nageswara Rao, was allegedly transporting 100 detonators and 100 gelatin sticks in his van when he was stopped by the special police party around 11 p.m.
