Suri main accused in Paritala murder case

ANANTAPUR: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which filed the chargesheet in the Paritala Ravindra murder case in the Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate (AJFCM) Court here on Tuesday, named G. Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri and Julakanti Srinivas Reddy the main accused persons along with 11 others.

The names of Y.S. Jaganamohan Reddy, son of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, J.C. Diwakar Reddy, the Minister for Panchayat Raj, R.P. Meena, IGP of Rayalaseema Zone, and G. Bhanumati, wife of Suri, who figured in the FIR, were not included in the chargesheet.

These four names were kept aside, stating that no prima facie evidence had been secured against them so far. But, the investigation in the case was still in progress and any of them could be named in the supplementary chargesheets, if any evidence was found, according to reliable sources in the CBI and counsel for the accused, C. Adisesha Reddy. Of the 13 suspects, 12 are in judicial custody. Julakanti Srinivasa Reddy, who claimed himself to be the main shooter, is still at large.

The three suspects who are in the judicial custody — P. Goverdhan Reddy, B. Ramaswamy and U. Anand Kumar Reddy— have been given a clean chit. Both Goverdhan Reddy and Ramaswamy were sent back to Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad in the afternoon.

According to the sources, Suri, J. Srinivasa Reddy, P. Narayana Reddy, V. Rekhamaiah, M. Obi Reddy, V. Konda, V. Seena, B. Ranganayakulu, P. Rammohan Reddy, G.V. Reddy, T. Peddi Reddy, T. Konda Reddy and V. Hanumantha Reddy have been named as accused persons in that order.
