Three held, property recovered

Stolen property worth Rs. 1.75 lakhs was recovered with the arrest of three persons by special parties of the Tapachabutra and the S.R. Nagar police on Tuesday. While two of the arrested -- Mohd. Maqsood (30) and Fayaz Khan (28) -- were history-sheeters, the third person, Mohd. Feroz (20), was their associate.

Suitcase stolen

Thieves took away a suitcase containing a laptop and a camera from a taxi after diverting the attention of its driver near Secunderabad Kamath Hotel on Monday. Manish Kothari and his father, R.C. Kothari of Baroda, came to city on a business work and hired a taxi. They went inside the hotel while driver, Karim, waited at the car.

An unidentified person asked the driver if the currency notes lying on the road were his. The driver collected the notes and returned to the car only to find the suitcase stolen.

Student groups clash

Controversy over conducting a cultural programme after the annual sports day function led to a clash between two groups of students at the Law College of Osmania University on Tuesday.

Two students -- Subhash Reddy and Vijay - suffered injuries and were shifted to Gandhi Hospital.
