Back Polaris Lab, GE expand ties Our Bureau
CHENNAI: Polaris Software Lab has got a GDC (global delivery centre) status for General Electric, from a preferred vendor, for the latter's domestic software needs. At present, there are about 160 people working for GE, and there is potential to ramp up this to about 1,000, Mr Arun Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Polaris, told research analysts in a conference call. Polaris was helping GE with ERP and Oracle applications. When asked for more details, a Polaris spokesperson declined to elaborate. On the NEC relationship, Mr Jain said, "It is dropping and has become small." The joint venture with American International Group, was ramping up fast, he said. On the fourth quarter results, Mr Jain said, "I am not very happy with the results. It was not in line with our expectation. However, it is only an aberration, and not a pattern going forward," he said.
