Back A damp squib

This refers to the editorial "Little beyond platitudes" (Business Line, May 2), which describes the recently concluded visit of Japanese Minister Mr Junichiro Koizumi as dull.

Apart from easing the bad vibes caused after Pokhran II and expressing concerns over the low level of business relations at present, the enthusiasm was lacking.

While everyone agreed about the enormous potential between the two countries, yet new ideas to expand them were not explored.

In sharp contrast, the Chinese leadership and its business delegation showed maturity and openness to further boost the nascent but very bright business possibilities between the two countries.
