Back Maruti sales down 4 pc in April; hikes prices Our Bureau
New Delhi , May 2 MARUTI Udyog Ltd has registered a four per cent dip in its April sales due to lower demand for the Maruti 800 and a decline in exports in the month. The company sold 38,190 units in the last month, as compared with 39,838 units sold in April last year, a company statement said. Exports in the month declined 58 per cent to 1,218 units from 2,910 units. Sales of the Maruti 800 fell 38 per cent in April to 6,910 units. Meanwhile, the company on Monday announced a nominal increase in the prices of its vehicles to offset the impact of rising input costs.
