ALAPPUZHA: The Kunjan Nambiar Memorial, under the State Government, is organising a cultural festival at the memorial in Ambalappuzha on May 4 and 5 in connection with the 305th birth anniversary celebrations of the poet, the chairman of the memorial, Nedumudy Harikumar, has said. The Minister for Water Resources, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, will inaugurate the festival at 10 a.m. on May 4. D Sugathan, MLA, will preside. A symposium on Thullal literature will be held at 2 p.m. on the day. A Thullal performance by the students of Kunjan Memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Later, the Alappuzha District Collector, K.R. Muraleedharan, will distribute certificates to the students who participated in the summer coaching camp organised by the memorial. A Kerala Natanam performance will be held at 10 a.m. on May 5. This will be followed by a performance of folk songs. The Speaker, Therambil Ramakrishnan, will inaugurate the Kunjan memorial meeting at 2 p.m.
