Back Of road blocks

Of late, it has become common for any organisation or for any individual to block the busy National Highway, especially NH-42, which connects Cuttack to Sambalpur.

This busy National Highway, which serves as a major link to all industrial locations in Talcher, Angul etc, sees hundreds of trucks plying about daily to pick up raw materials from giant PSUs such as NALCO, NTPC and TTPC.

Beside this, coal trucks from Mahanadi Coal Fields also ply across NH-42 throughout the day.

Even a half-hour delay on this high way leaves thousands of commuters stranded causing delay and difficulty to motorists.

The authorities should ensure that the National High Way is not blocked, especially due to protest or rallies.

Such demonstrations can be conducted in some other peaceful form that doesn't inconvenience commuters or disrupt vehicular movement.
