A scene from `Perinjanam Vanitha Pushpa Krishi', an outlet at Perinjanam in Thrissur district. Jasmine cultivation supports at least 1,000 families in the Kodungallor-Chavakad coastal belt. Mostly run by women, about eight varieties of jasmine are cultivated by 150 units. The peak flowering season being February to May, good quality jasmine fetches up to Rs 100 a kg in the market.
