Letters to the Editor
The use of IAF aircraft by Justice Phukan cannot be justified. Justice Phukan's mission was to enquire into the charges of bribe-taking by defence officials and politicians from journalists posing as arms dealers. So, what was the necessity for Justice Phukan, accompanied by his wife, to go about "inspecting" real arms supplied by real manufacturers, and that too with none in the group being an arms expert? Also, what "interests of the Defence Department" were served by the group's visit to Ajanta, Ellora, Shirdi?
G. Radhakrishnan,
It is unfortunate that in the battle between two political combines the image of a retired Supreme Court judge has been sought to be tarnished.
