Southern Railway women claim title

NAGERCOIL: Southern Railway, Chennai, lifted the Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Trophy defeating Western Railway, Mumbai, 69-41 in the women's title match in the IOC-sponsored all-India invitation basketball tournament on Sunday.

The results: Women (final): Southern Railway 69 (Ranjini Peter 35, Adhirai 14, Meenalatha 10) bt Western Railway 41 (Lincy Saji 11).

Men (league): MEG Bangalore 72 (Shrajudeen 27, M. Manoj 12) bt Signals, Delhi 62 (Jairam Jet 22, Dilip Kumar 14).
