It is not only the presence of an Indian actress in the jury which will make this year's Cannes Film Festival special for us. Exquisite diamond jewellery designed in India by ORRA and adorned by celebrities world over is all set to sparkle at the Cannes.

Old-world opulence was the mantra for this year's collection. "We tried to recreate the awesome magic and scintillating wonder of a world gone by, a world of opulence and beautiful princely treasures. While deciding on each design, we tried to incorporate the old aesthetic sense of design by using paisleys, flowers," says Vijay Jain, Chief Executive Officer of ORRA.

The emeralds, rubies, pearls, diamond beads and rose cuts used in designing the jewellery lent each piece a distinctive local flavour.

"Our jewellery has adorned the best at Oscars every year and this year we would be taking our jewellery to Cannes," says Jain.

The Satine Necklace worn by Nicole Kidman in the Oscar-winning romantic saga `Moulin Rouge' was also an ORRA product. An 18-carat white gold collar necklace encrusted with 1308 diamonds, it was one of the most precious pieces of jewellery commissioned in motion picture history.

ORRA is part of the Rosyblue Group - the world's largest diamond manufacturing company with a presence across fourteen countries and headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium.

It has 24 diamond boutiques across India and its Coimbatore store is located on TV Swamy Road, RS Puram.
