Essar Steel to double capacity

HAZIRA: The Rs 20,000-crore Essar Steel embarked on a massive expansion plan to double its capacity from 2.4 million tonnes to 4.6 million tonnesby the middle of the next year at a cost of over Rs. 2,000 crores. On Thursday, the Gujarat Power Minister, Saurabh Patel, inaugurated the company's 100 MW captive power station for the steel plant. The expansion plan would be entirely funded from internal accruals.
