Nadavarshini

on Saturday

The T.K.S. School of Music will present "Nadavarshini 2005: Raagas and Rhythms", a concert by young musicians trained at the school, at the Ravindra Kalakshetra on Saturday. The School of Music says it is repeating the success of its show last December when an orchestra of 30 violins and 10 singers kept a large audience enthralled. The ticket proceeds of Rs. 1 lakh was donated to a charity and this will be done again.

Rotary eye

care centre

Rotary Bangalore Brigades on Saturday started the "Rotary-Drishti Glaucoma Care Centre" at the Surana Project Drishti Eye Institution here in Seshadripuram.

The Commissioner of Police, S. Mariswamy, inaugurated the eye care centre.

Ramalingam, who is in charge of the centre, regretted that the awareness about glaucoma is low, and it is one of the leading causes of "preventable blindness".
