Meet on enterprise resource planning

Training for hearing impaired

The Technical Training Centre for the Deaf has invited applications from eligible hearing impaired candidates between the age group 14 and 40 years for admission into courses of fitter, turner and electronic mechanic. SSLC passed/failed candidates can apply. Free hostel facility will be provided for boys. The last date for submitting applications is June 30. Admission certificates for the Section Officer (Audit) Examination, 2005 to be held on June 5 have been despatched to eligible candidates who have opted for centres under Karnataka-Kerala region.

Award presented

BANGALORE: Laxmi C. Jain, former member of Planning Commission and Ambassador to South Africa, on Monday was presented the International Peace award. The Rotary International Club of Bangalore and Cantonment presented the award in recognition of his work towards development of the society.

Receiving the award, Mr. Jain said the State Government should involve rural people in the planning process.

Trekking programme

The Youth Hostels' Association of India will organise a nature trail and trekking programme at the Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Wild Life Sanctuary from May 20 to 22.
