COIMBATORE: The former President, R. Venkataraman, underwent surgery in the Ganga Hospital here after he suffered a fracture in and dislocation of the left shoulder on Wednesday. The Director and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, S. Rajasekaran, said Mr. Venkataraman slipped and fell at the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Anaikatti, where he had been staying. "He was operated upon and is cheerful. All vital parameters are functioning well and he will be discharged in two days," Dr. Rajasekaran said.
