The victim, Abdul Rabbani, 38, and Vadla Ramana of the same village clashed over water late on Tuesday night. Annoyed by Rabbani's comments Ramana strongly pushed him down. As a result, Rabbani who fell on hard soil died on the spot. Rabbani is survived by wife, Safila Begum, a son and two daughters. The victim's relatives held a dharna with the body in front of Ramana's house demanding compensation. __Staff Reporter

In a suicide pact, a mother and her three children committed suicide at Gonegandla in Kurnool district on Tuesday night. According to reports, Chittemma gave birth to three girls who were mentally retarded. Frustrated by the health condition of her children, she gave poison to Madhavi (6), Kondamma (4) and a three-month old baby and later she consumed it herself.
